Rain
June 2013
I was inspired to do this project from a picture on pinterest. The colors
streaming down are melted crayon. It was fun to try to make them melt a
certain way. I really like how I could fit the little girl in the corner with
her umbrella. I really enjoyed doing this project.

Life
May 2013
I really enjoy dandelions this time of year and I wanted to
something different instead of doing a painting of a girl or person.
So I did this painting. I like it when it was done but I felt like it
needed to have something on top. So I found the quote online and
felt like it fit quite well!

Intense
April 2013
This was my first charcoal drawing. I really
enjoyed doing this! I like how intense the picture is
and how her hair flowed. It was fun to have tried
charcoal and I know that I will be doing many
more projects with it!

This was a fun painting for me to do. It so far has been
my biggest painting! I really like the picture that I
found but when I was painting it didn't turn out just how
I wanted with the colors but I am overall pleased with
it. It was fun to paint the girl purple instead of the
typical skin tone colors.

Flapper Girl
February 2013
I painted this with acrylic paint. I was going to make a
theme this semester to have paints of women throughout
times to represent different styles. But then after doing this
painting it didn't hold an appeal to me any more. I didn't like
how the picture blended too much together. But I was
happy that I tried to do something new.

January 2013
This was drawn with a black pen and the red is colored
pencil. I saw this picture on the internet and really like it so I
decided to draw it. Instead of just drawing the girl black and
white and it being a little boring, I decided on adding red to
really make the picture "pop". I am pleased with the way it
turned out.

Hidden Treasure
January 2013
This is my art team project. This years
problem was about stereotypes. I painted
a "goth" girl because some people judge
her from the outside and assume she is a
dark person. But in the inside she is a very
colorful person, full of life, and happiness. I
like the way the colors look like they are
glowing or exploing from her chest.

Whispering Wind...
January 2013
Wanting to do something different and
challenging, I decided to paint my next project.
I found a picture on the Internet and fell in
love with both the cool and warm colors and the
closeness of the face. Instantly I wanted to do
it but I wasn't so sure about painting. I have
learned a lot about painting through this
experience. I didn't exactly capture the picture the way I would have liked, but I plan on
practicing my painting skills and getting better in the future.

Storm Roots
"Storms make trees take deeper roots." -Dolly Parton
December 2012
Inspired by a couple girls in my class, I decided to take a
break from drawing. I thought is would be a cool idea to
have two projects that can connect to become one piece
of art. I decided to make the roots of a tree and then my
friend did the other half of the tree. I made my roots
using modeling paste. The modeling paste cracked a little
more than what I wanted but it added to the effect. I
enjoyed melting the crayons onto the board because it added a cool and interesting effect.
After making this I decided to donate the project to the "Art for Heart" to help fund-raise
money for people with heart diseases.

Peacock Beauty
November 2012
My goal for this project was to draw someone
with pencil going from black and white to
adding color and then to a piece actually
coming off the paper. I don't believe that I
accomplished my goal but it only helps me
want to do better on my next project.

Career Scribble Drawing
September 2012
This is a picture of a surgeon. I like how this picture is
very intense. But I found parts of the picture difficult
to draw such as the mask and his surgical cap. I found
it challenging to draw all the little wrinkles. But I am
pleased with the way they turned out.
